Internal Boundaries
Boundaries are the limits we set to protect our well-being and maintain healthy relationships. Think of them as invisible lines that define what we are comfortable with and what we are not.
Boundaries can be divided into two categories: internal and external. External boundaries are limits we set with others, while internal boundaries are limits we set for ourselves. While external boundaries often get more attention, internal boundaries are just as important because we can’t always control others or set external limits in every situation. Both types of boundaries are essential for safeguarding our emotional health and fostering positive interactions with ourselves and the world around us.
This is a great resource for identifying the differences between internal and external boundaries and thus learning to set them both.
