The biopsychosocial model is used to understand diseases, disorders, and general wellbeing. The model posits that the biological, psychological, and social interact and overlap to impact outcomes related to diseases, disorders, and overall wellbeing. All three impact us throughout our lifespan. Therefore, this is a model used by many mental health professionals.
